Let’s skip Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

My internet went out on Thursday December 23, so sorry if I didn’t come back to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I don’t know what happen with the net , I woke up early that morning and was writing in my journal and 4 hours later I could not get on the web to save my life. So instead of wishing  everyone a very Merry Christmas, lets just skip that and jump into Happy New York!

I am so really for the 2011 to come in, first I am going to work on myself, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally! the big 3-0 is coming very soon and I feel that what happen  in 20’s needs to stay in the 20’s so I can live better in the 30’s and so on!

Speaking of living healthy mentally, I have been cleaning out my closet and found so much stuff it is unbelievable!

2010-12-22 08.45.45 Lots and Lots of dolls I use to play with but not  anymore so they will be off to the Good-Will very soon!

2010-12-22 08.47.25 This is my puppet Cindy! 6 years ago I was in the puppet ministry in the church that I sometimes go to. In 2005 the leader of the ministry left and therefore the puppet ministry stop! I won’t go into why I think it was a mistake for the ministry to end but, look for a post about this very soon because I have a lot to speak on this matter!

2010-12-21 10.39.42

For me the bad and only thing about being a doll collector is sticking clothes and shoes all over the place! I notice if I could not get to my storage unit I just stuff everything in my drawers.  I stop doing that because you end up with this, nothing but junk in your drawers!

I hoped everyone had a get holiday and a great healthy New Year! I will continue my with my Barbie Basics Model list and A Newbie Christmas story!

Enough of my christmas wishes here are the new looks for 2011.

Barbie Basics: Model #2 so easy to love

I’m going to jump right in here and tell you that Barbie Basics Model #2 was so easy to love! You can easily fell into those pretty golden brown and eyes. Unlike Model #5, I had no problem finding Model 2 who name is Nikki Reed

I named Nikki after the actress who plays Rosalie Hale Cullen in the Twilight saga movies!

Well, they almost look alike!

Even with Model 2 coming back in the new Basics line, Barbie Basic 1.0 will always be a classic.

Nikki has on Model 4 dress

Barbie Basics: Model #5 loves to play hard to get!

I am continuing from last Wednesday Post Barbie Basics Model #10 is f**king beautiful! As I said in the last post I will be going down memory lane of Barbie Basics 1.0 and why I chose the dolls I bought.

The next doll was so hard to find, in February I went to 3 different stores to find Model #5. I was little obsess with finding this doll, this was due to do that so many collectors were sharing photos and talking about how wonderful Model 5 was. There is no worst thing like Peer Pressure so I went on my hunt for Ms. 5!

I went to Target everyday for 3 weeks to see if they had Model 5 and there was no such luck. A week before my birthday I went to Toy”R”Us in Time Sq and still no Model #5. It was become really ridiculous looking for Model 5 in the stores so I had to turn to the web and order her.

On Friday February 19, 2010 the day I turned 29, Ms. Model #5 who new name is Lexy showed up at my door and I finally realize why everyone is so in love with her.

Barbie Basics: Model #10 is f**king beautiful!

It has been a year since the Barbie Basics dolls hit the store shelves and the ever so popular ladies are still the talk of the town. However, with the new line coming in I wanted to take these next few days to go over the dolls I bought from Barbie Basic 1.0 collection. I write from the last doll I bought from the first so here we go!

The last (trust me this is the last) doll I bought from BB 1.0 is Model #10, when this collection first came out I did not like Model 10 at all. I don’t why it took so long for me to like her but, after the stupid controversy about her dress that had 3 different styles already I cave in and just bought her! I am so glad my feelings have changed because I am so in love with Model 10 who I named Brandi just like the singer. At the same time I can’t help but feel a little sad that Model 10 is not coming back in BB 2.0.

As for the controversy, I always heard people talking about her dress in the stores and I had to stop and tell them that these dolls are not for kids! Adult collectors buy these dolls and if your little girl wants a Barbie Basic don’t buy her that one! I found it funny that everyone wants to pick on Model #10 when Models 1, 2, 3,4,6,7 dresses are too short or when you open up Model #4 her v-neck open back dress is not to far from the crack of her butt (I love Model #4). Parents really need to get over themselves because while there is live sex on TV, they worrying about a doll who has no control over who makes her!

I will shut up now and let you see the ever so beautiful photos of Brandi Model #10

Barbie loves all Cultures

Designer Eliana Lorena has dressed 500 black Barbie's according to different cultures of women from around the world, with clothes that she has created. Lorena's goal was to make Barbie become a real woman, not the woman becoming the Barbie.

"I chose Barbie, because she is a strong icon, which has approval by definition, giving her another identity." — speaks Lorena.

One of my doll buddies who is collecting big dolls now was sending me some dolls stuff last week, she told me being that she was so into Tonner and Ellowyne Wilde expect some mail very soon. Thinking to myself, "Okay great, I can not wait to see what she is sending me!" On Monday morning November 29 not only did one box come but 2 boxes of doll goodies (don't you just love Christmas soo early). I could not open the boxes yet but later on that night while watching the new TransFormers Prime on the Hub I opened one box at a time and went through everything!

Sorry I did not take pictures yet but I will tell you what was in the boxes; I got a lot of beautiful dresses many of them were from the Fashion Ave days, I have Checking Out Francisco Original outfit. A My Scene boy, I think his name is Sutton. Some other boys who I do not know yet and 2 Nolee's with Model Muse bodies.

There were 2 dolls who I was so happy to see and they are the Susies'. I alwasys wanted some kind of Japanese doll from Momoko to Nippon and now I have two Susie dolls. All I know is as soon as I finish rearranging my room I can not wait to take pictures of my 2 new lovely ladies

Tonner Doll Co. Introduces First Gay Fashion Doll

Tonner not only creates dolls, he also gives the characters an identity. “For years, our company has developed storylines to go with our products,” Tonner explains. “It’s long overdue to have a storyline that embodies society in more of its entirety.”

The timeliness of this release is not lost on Tonner, as it comes on the heels of the tragic event at Rutgers University, where a gay student committed suicide after a coed videotaped him and posted it on the Internet.

“With the recent tragic suicides among gay youth, we thought it was beyond time to represent a positive gay role model,” Tonner0 affirms.

In conjunction with his release, Andy’s story will be told in a series on the Tonner Doll Co. Web site, www.tonnerdirect.com and on Facebook. Though Andy Mills is a gay character, his storyline is about young New York: lifestyle, business, friends and fashion.

According to the company, Andy Mills may not be every man, or every gay man for that matter, but he will be a regular guy who works for a living, has great friends, embraces life and happens to be gay. His storyline will include much about the trials and tribulations of owning an event planning business in New York, and the people he meets along the way.

Andy Mills, available on www.tonnerdirect.com and in specialty boutique stores for $179.99, is 17 inches tall. Made of vinyl and hard plastic, Andy Mills features hand-painted facial features and comes dressed in a sharp pinstriped suit, complete with a contrasting pocket square and spectacles.  For more information, go to http://www.tonnerdirect.com/, or visit Tonner on Facebook.

Happy with Luxury Coffee and addicted to Tumblr

http://www.tabloach.com/
After started my new doll photo blog on Thanksgiving Thursday, the response for Luxury Coffee has been truly amazing!  Instead of using flickr.com members photos I went to google and type in African American dolls and found so many beautiful dolls in the world!  There are not enough words to say how much I love this project; African American people and dolls has opened my eyes a little more to the beauty of our wonderful skin color!

I know the same doll makers keep leaving us out on major lines and if they do add African American dolls, it's always 1 or 2. Never less, we have come a long way.

There are so many troubles and honors from our past in American history, I just wish we can leave it all behind and move forward in a new journey!

While being on Tumblr I have become very addicted to one blog on there called Fuck Yeah, Women of the Rainbow. The blog shows the beauty of women from all over the world so please check that out!
Talk to you soon!

Luxury Coffee

Raina drinking coffee

Coffee comes in many diverse delicious styles; people all over the world can not start their day unless they have a cup of Joe! Can you believe that we have so many to choose from such as: Black Coffee, Mocha, Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso, Macchiato and so on! It does not matter what level of income you have, you can enjoy a nice warm cup of coffee from 50 cents to 6 dollars. Coffee is the one luxury we all have in common!

The reason why I call this doll photo blog Luxury Coffee is because African American Dolls come in all special skin tones. Just like African American Humans, the beauty of collecting African American dolls is a joy to do because like Coffee you fell in love with so many flavors!

I created this blog because on my main blog Brooklyn Stars Forever, I felted that I was neglecting my purpose of talking about sharing photos of African American dolls. I still will bring up important issues and photos regarding African American dolls but Brooklyn Stars Forever will be a little bit deeper when it comes to all dolls of the rainbow.

Luxury Coffee will only focus on African American dolls photos by me and other members from flickr.

Unusual Fashions

Last week while running around taking care of some business, I went into Atlantic Terminal for window shopping to clear my mind! I happen to walk pass Daffy's clothing store and let me say there were some very interesting fashions on display. It's a good thing that I have my Motorola BACKFLIP phone because you just have to see it to believe it!

Bratz 10th Anniversary Adri

For all you Bratz lovers and non-lovers out there, Bratz had it's 10th anniversary last month and to make Bratz fans so happy MGA came out with 10 new characters to celebrated. I'm not a fan but, the Bratz clothes are so much better than Barbie's! I like their clothes so much that I bought one of the dolls to steal her outfit and put it on a Monster High doll!

As you can see my doll of choice was Adri and although she is a very pretty girl, I will just have to sell or give her away!

The True Indiana Royatly

Jason Wu sketch
Last Friday night I went Dallis BBQ in Manhattan with my doll buddies to talk about the dolls at the  Dark Romance Convention, but in general we talked about many other dolls such as Barbie, Liv Dolls, Monster High etc. One doll that came up in our conversation was Fashion Royalty Isha born as Isha Kalpana Narayanan.

When I started collecting Fashion Royalty dolls I knew that Isha was the one doll I have to have, but with no such luck Isha is still not in my reach! I like or should I say love this character for so many reasons. 1. She is the only character with Indiana decent, 2. She takes Bollywood to a whole other level and 3. Isha is just so damn beautiful!
