Vampire Hunter D - this is a whole manga series but I am most interested in the 2000 animated movie Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust..."D" is like Blade - he is half vampire and half human which are called "dhampir" which I always hear as "damper" which is like bread cooked under hot coals...

Now I have to look for the 2000 movie!

Thank you to Knena

Something one of my blog readers want to share and I totally forgot about it! Here is what Knena had to say!
Hi! I'm knena from the blog I love the vampire theme!I would love if you write about True Blood. I think so far is the vampire series that I liked most of all.I am currently reading the books and it is incredible but is one of the few times that I think the series is better than books, yet I have not read all books. In True Blood, during the first season is a sexy African-American vampire that I would have liked to see more on the show named Diane.

She was turned into a vampire in the late 30's and had a short relationship with Bill (one of the stars of True Blood vampires)She is a character faithful to the plot, but other characters such as Tara (I love this girl) does not appear in the book. It's another African American girl with a very interesting, though not vampire (at least so far)Lafayette is also African American, not a vampire and if he appears in the book, but not as important like in the series. He's very funny and successful with your comments. This series my favorite is vampire Eric!I recommend you see the TV series and if you want read the books! The Southern Vampire Mysteries
What's so funny about this is that I do remember watching the first season of TruBlood and I really forgot about the character Diane! WHY? because she was not in there that long. Don't get me wrong, I do like TruBlood I just have to catch the 2nd season when they put it back on my HBO!

The Dirty Bella and Edward!

For those of us who enjoy the love story of Bella and Edward in the Twilight saga, let me point out why we love them so much! Bella and Edward were friends first before they fell deeply in love! Instead of jumping in bed, Bella and Edward show each other love in many different ways for example: Bella want to become a vampire so bad so she can live the rest of her life with Edward to fight by his side. Edwards goes out of his way to protect Bella by even leaving her in New Moon so she can have a life without his world having such an impact on her! Those are some of the reasons why people including myself love reading all the Twilight books!

TruBlood is the same as Twilight but far from the sweet love affair!
In TruBlood the character Sooki is a telepathy who can read peopole thoughts, the only thoughts she can not read is the handsome 173 years old vampire Bill Compton. You all know the rest the story "The Lion falls in love with the Lamb". Soon after Sooki and Bill meet they become romantically involved. Unlike Twilight, TruBlood has a very strong sexual overtone! Trust me, this show or the books are not for children to read or watch! TruBlood comes on HBO and the cast will start filming for Season 3 next month!

The Queen of All Vampires

Going back to my black vampires storyline, Late R&B singer Aaliyah may have been one of the first African American woman to play a lead role in Anne Rice's book turn into a movie "Queen of the Damned". I myself have never read the book but from what I heard, the movie is nothing like the book (who knew). I did however watch the movie because I was and still is a fan of Aaliyah and I have to tell you; she scared the hell out of me. I have watched a lot of Vampires in my day but, no actress or actor made me want to turn off the TV.

On August 25, 2001 Aaliyah died in a plane crash at the age of 22, "Queen of the Damned" was release after Aaliyah death the film was dedicated to her memory.

Laurent from Twilight: Thank You Therese

Thank you to Therese for bringing up Laurent from Twilight to my attention! Early today I made a post about The First Black Vampire which is Blacula; we had a few ethics vampires over the years but not that many. It was very good to see Queen of the Damned played Aaliyah and Edi Gathegi.

Here is some history on Laurent:Laurent was an original member of James' coven. When James and Victoria chose to hunt Bella Swan, Laurent told the Cullens everything about them.
After this, Laurent went to live with the
Denali Coven; despite living with "vegetarian" vampires, Laurent cheated the diet as evidenced by his red irises.

Laurent is described as an olive skinned, dark haired vampire with a French accent. Bella Swan considered Laurent to be easily the most attractive out of himself, James and Victoria. He appeared to have little sense of loyalty as he betrayed Jame's plans, his long time coven leader, to the Cullens. In addition, he also betrayed the Denali Coven by disregarding their vegetarian diet. Laurent also turned on the Cullens by trying to kill Bella.

Laurent is also a doll; for those doll collectors out there that like tall dolls (This one is for you ANGIE) Laurent, James and Victoria are the guys for you! These dolls are made by Robert Tonner!

If you want him and other Twilight dolls you can order them at Angelic Dreamz

The First Black Vampire!

In 1780, Prince Mamuwalde (Marshall), the ruler of an African nation, seeks the help of Count Dracula (Charles Macaulay) in suppressing the slave trade. Dracula, who along with his other evils is revealed as a racist, not only refuses to help but also transforms Mamuwalde into a vampire (denigrating him with the name "Blacula" into the bargain) and imprisons him in a sealed coffin to suffer the un-ending thirst of the damned. Mamuwalde's wife Luva (McGee) is also imprisoned but, not being a vampire, dies in captivity

Almost two centuries later, in 1972, the coffin has been purchased as part of an estate by two gay interior decorators, and shipped to Los Angeles. The men open the coffin and become the vampire's first victims. Blacula then travels around the city and soon encounters Tina (McGee), who appears to be a reincarnation of his deceased wife, and begins stalking her. This brings the vampire to the attention of Dr. Gordon Thomas (Rasulala), who is helping Lt. Peters (Pinsent) with the investigation of the series of strange murders that is occurring, and whose girlfriend Michelle (Nicholas) is Tina's sister (by an unlikely coincidence. Tina and Michelle are also friends of Bobby, one of the murdered gay men).

The film continues as the vampire kills several more victims and hypnotizes Tina into falling in love with him. Meanwhile Thomas, Peters, and Michelle are following the trail of victims and come to realize that a vampire is responsible and Mamuwalde is their culprit. In the final scenes, the police shoot at Blacula and Tina; he is unharmed but she is mortally wounded. He saves her by turning her into a vampire, but Thomas, Peters, and Michelle find Tina and kill her with a stake through her heart. Distraught, Mamuwalde climbs up a staircase and onto a rooftop, into the sun to kill himself. Blacula melts in the light, and maggots suck his bones, and eat his flesh.

Here is some history on my homeboy!

The Count's main purpose is educating children on simple mathematical concepts, most
notably counting. The Count has a love of counting (
]; he will count anything and everything, regardless of size, amount,
or how much annoyance he is causing the other Muppets or human cast. For
instance, he once prevented
Ernie from answering a telephone
because he wanted to continue counting the number of rings.

The Count lives in an old, cobweb-infested
castle which he shares with many bats. Sometimes he
counts them. Some of the pet bats are named, including Grisha, Misha, Sasha, and
Tatiana. He has a
cat, Fatatita, as well.
Sometimes he counts her. He also drives a special car designed in the features
of a bat, named the Countmobile, intended as a pun to the
