My Mass Blogger Interview! Thanks I luv Dolls

Sorry that this took so long but I was up late and did my research which means I'm done! So here are my answers to your questions!

When did you start collecting dolls?

I started collecting at 17 years old however when I turn 22, I gave all my dolls away because at the time I felt I needed to be more mature and work on where I needed to go in life! A year later when I was 23 I was playing with my niece and her dolls and said to myself “Oh boy why did I give this up!’ Anyone who's ever been a college student know the stress it can cause and playing with those dolls ease my mind so much!
What was your first purchase as a collector?

When I was 17 I bought a Clueless Doll, I gave her away I’m such a dumbass! Then I was bless in 2005 to get started on the love of Fashion Fever and my first purchase was Fashion Fever Kira and Rio Lea Barbie (still have them)!

How many dolls do you own?

I’ve been cleaning house so I probably have 60-90 dolls (I’m just thinking off the top of my head)

What is your favorite doll and why?

I really can’t pick a favorite because I love all my dolls, each one I have I bought because they had that one thing that made me want them! SORRY CAN’T CHOSE............

What doll or dolls are not your favorites and why?

I can not for the life of me get into Liv or the Bratz dolls, there is nothing about them that stands out in my eyes! I don’t hate them sometimes they just suck but, I do love their clothes!

What is the biggest challenge about collecting dolls?

This is a good question because I really have no idea what my challenges are as a collector, I wish I had more space, I may have too many clothes, I don’t have enough black dolls! But for some reason, I don’t see those things as a challenge, I just go with the flow!

How do you display or store your dolls?

I have 2 bins: one big one and one small one, my house gets very dusty (which is not good for my nose) so I store the dolls I’m not playing with at the moment under my bed and for the ones I do play with I keep in a small bin next to my bed!

Have you ever been to a doll show?

I’ve been going to doll shows once a year since 2008 but this year there was no doll show!

When you travel, do you look for dolls?
Hell YEAH!

What is your latest purchase?
I bought 2 Star Dolls and I have 1 Fashion Royalty and a Poppy coming next month!

What doll is on your wish list now?

I don’t believe in a wishlist, starts a lot of trouble for me! lol

What do you wish you didn’t purchase?

Mmmm I like all my purchases even the ones I wasn't so fond of I will always find a use for it!

What is your favorite doll related item?
 Hats and boots!

I just found those boots from the web!

How often do you photo your dolls and what doll is the most photographed
and/or photogenic?

Well I have 4 photobucket accounts because I took so many photos of my dolls over the years!
I used take pictures everyday but now I plan when I’m going to take pictures and the most photogenic dolls are Nadja, Annik, Nichelle and Barbie Basic Model 4! So many people say that these dolls are very hard to photograph because of their skin complexion, well with the right setting and light they will shine so bright!

Do you talk to other collectors in person or just on the web?

I talk to all you guys that are far from my reach (I totally would love to hang out with all of you) and I hang out with collectors who live here in the NYC!

If you had the chance to speak to Mattel or other toy makers, what
would you say?

I want Barbie to have a mixture of ethnic friends such as more Asian dolls, Barbie has more than one black friend so don’t be afraid to throw Nikki and Christie in the mix (together) and the same for the latino dolls! To Integrity it’s time to bring back Nadja!

What doll do you wish would be reissued?

I really do wish that Integrity will bring back the Monsieur Z and Eve Kitten dolls! Those 2 sets o were so different and special in their own way. I totally came in late of the game however, I did manage to snag an Eve Kitten!

What two dolls would you combine and how would you want them
 combined? (Muff style question)

I think the whole Barbie Basics line should have been articulated!
I also would love Nichelle on a Fashion Royalty body~!

Thank you  Ms. Leo you gave us great question. Early this year I was contacted by a report to do an interview about my dolls. I had to turn him down because there were so many things to do at that time and I wasn't ready to let someone in my home to see my crazy mess! But I'm glad I was able to share some information with all of you! Hope you like my answers!

  1. Nice interview! Loved it! Your pics of the "hard to photograph" dolls are very nice. I am one who have a hard time photographing the dark complexion and really light complexion dolls as well. I plan to do some outdoor shots of them.

    Happy Sunday!

I sorry to here that there were no doll show this year there. That sucks:( The boots are KILLER! They don't even look like doll boots.
