Suicide: Read This First!

Good Morning, afternoon and evening people.

Whatever time or day you read this, please understand that I'm am not trying to make anyone depress or feel uncomfortable. My post is to wake America up about what's going on in our society.

In the fall of 2008 I had to write paper for my child psychology course. There were many topics to explore and I made up my mind to write about suicide. I have to say, when I read my outline for the class 2 weeks before the paper was due, everyone was in shock. I'm not supired because many people are still in the dark when it comes to all forms of suicide.

Do you know:

young people 15-24 years old, suicide is the third leading cause of death.

15% of those who are clinically depressed die by suicide

1 in 65,000 children ages 10 to 14 commit suicide each year

In 2004, 32,439 people died by suicide. (CDC)

By 2010, depression will be the #1 disability in the world. (World Health Organization)

Need more facts please go to

The reason why I'm bringing all this up?(You have to be asking yourself that question)

NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS!! I know it is the most difficult topic to discuss, believe me I had a hard time writing that paper but, at the end of the day I felt a lot better.

Here are a few warning signs

  • Ideation (thinking, talking or wishing about suicide)
  • Substance use or abuse (increased use or change in substance)
  • Puposelessness (no sense of purpose or belonging)
  • Trapped (feeling like there is no way out)
  • Hopelessness (there is nothing to live for, no hope or optimism)
  • Withdrawal (from family, friends, work, school, activities, hobbies)
  • Anxiety (restlessness, irritability, agitation)
  • Recklessness (high risk-taking behavior)
  • Mood disturbance (dramatic changes in mood

Again I'm not doing this to make you feel sad! If you know anyone who feels like they want to take their life, get them help!

If you have any questions please look to the right side of your computer and check out the sites Under REAL LIFE ISSUES!

Thank you for reading!

  1. Good on you for writing about such a taboo subject. My sister took her own life 11 years ago on 6th May and I think if more people talked and listened about suicide and were more aware of the warning signs things can change.

  2. Vikki I'm so sorry to hear that.
I just hope people understand and know the warning signs! I myself at one time in my life wanted to do harm to myself, but if it wasn't for God I will not be here! It is very important that we talk about it!

Dolls Do It Better: A Aaliyah tribute Vs Marisa

This is a special tribute to R&B singer and dancer Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001. Aaliyah had a few hits that include “Age Ain't Nothing But a Number”, “One in a Million” and “Rock the Boat”. Aaliyah’s styles was very Tomboy but still very girly at the same time. This picture is very cool and down to earth, that was the kind of person Aaliyah was.
Marisa is totally girly here and is not afaird to give it her all! What Marisa is wearing: Unknown top and 2008 Fashion Fever pants.

I'M COMING BACK.....................

I did not forget about any of you. I actually wrote a post back in July, but many things have happened that is completely out of my control. I found a job back in April and up until right now I've been working my butt off like crazy for six days a week and taking care of my mother. Let me just say, I think God for my job each day, but this has been the worst summer in my entire life. I'm hoping to get my six turn into five. My health and house are such a mess. The children are always crying out for me. I need to get my life back in check! Until then, please stay bless and cool. I'm praying for the fall to come fast!

Monster High: Cleo De Nile and Deuce Gorgon & What I think about the Monster Dolls

Here I am again with more photos of my new obsession Monster High dolls Cleo and Deuce. Being a person who was never into big headed dolls like Blythe (which are very cute) the Bratz, My Scene (even though I have a few), Liv dolls and Moxie girls this is really new for me! I think we all knew about these dolls for over a month now and I never thought I would become such a big fan. Mattel really has a hit on there hands and they don't need to mess this one up, HINT HINT FASHION FEVER! As I said on Monday's post you can watch Monster High on YouTube and there will be novels coming soon which I really can not wait for and maybe even a show on TV! This is really something to look forward to
