About Me

Giselle Diefendorf  Mais oui!

Hello everyone, My name is Ebony and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a child my mom did not buy me too many dolls. I got my first Barbie when I was only 8 years old for Christmas (which my aunt bought for me)! I don’t remember what kind of Barbie she was, but when I get more information I will come back here and share with you! As life went on, I did not receive any more dolls in my childhood until I turn 17 years old. The doll I do remember buying was the Spice girls members Scary Spice and Posh Spice who were my favorites in the group. I love them very much! I guess I had a thing for famous singer because the next doll I bought was Selena and she was a gem. When I graduated from high school I began to collect more play line dolls but, in 2003 I stop playing with dolls because I thought it was a phase I was going through at the time. That phase will only come back when in late 2004 I was playing with my niece and realized that I missed my dolls and hated myself for giving them all away.

I always thought that I was the only person in the world who collected dolls. This proved to be untrue when I found a site called Fashion Fever Barbies now called The Doll Cafe. That summer in 2007 made me the happiest person in the world. I discovered that there were all kinds of dolls created in many different forms, shapes and sizes!

The dolls I collect today old and new are:

Barbies’(Fashion Fever, Model Muses, So In Style and Now Fashionistas)
Fashion Royalty
Dynamite Girls
Maybe Many more!
What is Brooklyn Stars Forever about?

Brooklyn Stars Forever is my main blog, where I talk about dolls,Life issues, movies, music and dolls and dolls and dolls! Wait a minute; I said that already LOL! In March 2008 I created this blog because I wanted to share my passion and favorites on collecting Barbies' and other fashion dolls that have me hooked! I also like to share my shopping experiences, going to doll shows and living to tell about it.

So In Style Kara
The reason why I call my blog Brooklyn Stars Forever is because, I live in Brooklyn with my dolls and I truly believe it is the HEART of New York. I love to take my girls and boys to the park or just handing out on the sidewalk to take pictures. Every month I have 2 photo shoots sometimes with a theme or not! I just love taking photos. When I got my camera it was the best thing that ever happed to me. Now I get to share my dolls and photos with the most wonderful doll collectors of the world!

Dolls Do It Better: A Aaliyah tribute Vs Marisa

This is a special tribute to R&B singer and dancer Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001. Aaliyah had a few hits that include “Age Ain't Nothing But a Number”, “One in a Million” and “Rock the Boat”. Aaliyah’s styles was very Tomboy but still very girly at the same time. This picture is very cool and down to earth, that was the kind of person Aaliyah was.
Marisa is totally girly here and is not afaird to give it her all! What Marisa is wearing: Unknown top and 2008 Fashion Fever pants.

I'M COMING BACK.....................

I did not forget about any of you. I actually wrote a post back in July, but many things have happened that is completely out of my control. I found a job back in April and up until right now I've been working my butt off like crazy for six days a week and taking care of my mother. Let me just say, I think God for my job each day, but this has been the worst summer in my entire life. I'm hoping to get my six turn into five. My health and house are such a mess. The children are always crying out for me. I need to get my life back in check! Until then, please stay bless and cool. I'm praying for the fall to come fast!

Monster High: Cleo De Nile and Deuce Gorgon & What I think about the Monster Dolls

Here I am again with more photos of my new obsession Monster High dolls Cleo and Deuce. Being a person who was never into big headed dolls like Blythe (which are very cute) the Bratz, My Scene (even though I have a few), Liv dolls and Moxie girls this is really new for me! I think we all knew about these dolls for over a month now and I never thought I would become such a big fan. Mattel really has a hit on there hands and they don't need to mess this one up, HINT HINT FASHION FEVER! As I said on Monday's post you can watch Monster High on YouTube and there will be novels coming soon which I really can not wait for and maybe even a show on TV! This is really something to look forward to
